No. Parts b), c) and d) are separate. See the answer to Natacia's post. Just take your time and don't get confused. If you think clearly you will see that part b) — concerned with how much money SportsPassion can make from advertising — is nothing to do with parts c) and d), which are concerned with one advertiser's customer acquisition cost if they advertise on SportsPassion.

Forum category: Help requests / Class help - non-technical
Forum thread: Midterm - SportsPassion

You are referring to question 1 part b). Part b) asks you to figure out how much money SportsPassion might make from selling advertising. In this part of the question advertising is on a CPM basis i.e. SportsPassion gets paid $5 for every thousand page impressions (an impression is one page view). You are given enough information to figure out how many page views a typical sports team generates each month. These page views (or impressions) come from team members and team followers. With this information , you can figure out how much advertising revenue is generated by a typical team in one year. You know that the company needs to generate a total of $150,000 a year in revenue to break even, so you can then work out the number of teams they need.

Part b) has nothing to do with customer acquisition cost. Parts c) and d) are concerned with an advertiser's customer acquisition cost. Specifically, they ask you to figure out the advertiser's customer acquisition cost if they advertise on SportsPassion's site. That cost will be different, depending on whether they choose CPM or CPC advertising. This is the same calculation we covered in class last Saturday.

Forum category: Help requests / Class help - non-technical
Forum thread: Midterm Question 1

You are reading it correctly. This question has two parts: a) and b). Part a) concerns in-store sales only i.e. parts 1), 2) and 3) of a) concern in-store only. Part b) is concerned with the impact of online sales. Some sub-questions of b) ask about online sales only. Other parts of b) ask about the overall store performance with both in-store and online sales included.

Forum category: Help requests / Class help - non-technical
Forum thread: mid term question 4 .....Chocolate

You need to edit the HTML on your wiki page and insert the <SPAN> element I specified in Assignment 1. Go to your wiki, then hit Edit, the Source (button on the right of the menu). A window with HTML code will open. Insert the <SPAN> element somewhere in that code - ideally a line with not much on it e.g. just <p> (paragraph) tags. Then save the page, and the large text will appear.

Forum category: Help requests / Technical help
Forum thread: text of size

TTM numbers are cumulative and therefore not useful for calculating growth.

Growth rates are usually calculated with respect to what happened a year ago in the same quarter e.g. comparing Q4 (Oct-Dec) 07 with Q4 (Oct-Dec) 08. That comparison makes sense because you're comparing like with like i.e. the Holiday season in one year with the Holiday season a year later. That makes more sense than comparing - for example - Q4 07 with Q1 08, as the Holiday season is usually a much bigger season in retail than the quarter that starts the New Year, so the comparison is not a fair one.

Forum category: Help requests / Class help - non-technical
Forum thread: Final question four
